Interface Overview

The interface is divided into 7 functional segments, each corresponding to a numbered annotation in the image:

① Preset Selection Sidebar

The navigation list containing saved workflow presets. Select a preset to view and configure its details, search scope, and replacement rules. Each entry displays its assigned name and visual identifier. A search filter helps locate presets quickly; editing options (rename, delete, favorite, hide) are accessed directly from this list.

② Active Preset Header

Displays the name of the currently selected workflow. Provides direct controls to mark the preset as a favorite, or to hide it from the sidebar list. A warning indicator appears here if the preset's configured search folder cannot be found on disk.

③ Main Drag & Drop Zone

The primary input area for initiating a search-and-replace operation. Drag files or folders from the Finder and drop them here. The application accepts any file type; upon drop, it recursively scans the preset's configured search directory, locates all copies of each dropped file, and automatically replaces them with the new versions.

④ Passive Watch Folders Browser

Displays a chronological list of files discovered in all folders configured for passive monitoring. Files modified since the preset was last used are visually highlighted. Select individual files or groups from this list, then use the action buttons at the bottom to execute a replacement operation on only those selected items, or on all highlighted items.

⑤ Immediate Destination Drop Boxes

A row of discrete drag targets representing directly routed destination folders. Dragging a file onto one of these boxes moves it to that folder immediately. If a file with the same name already exists at the destination, the existing file is moved to a timestamped backup subfolder before the new file is placed.

⑥ Workflow Execution & Progress Panel

Replaces the standard configuration view while a search-and-replace operation is actively running. Shows the current phase (e.g., scanning, backing up, replacing), a detailed sub-status message, and a visual progress bar with a percentage indicator.

⑦ Status Summary & Settings Access

A footer displaying cumulative historical metrics for the selected preset:

• Total files processed across all past runs
• Total data size transferred during those operations
• Days active since the preset was first created

Provides a dedicated action to open the full settings configuration sheet, where search paths, backup policies, file handling rules, and watch folders are managed.

• Workflow Name Editor: Defines the human-readable display label for the selected workflow preset. Modifying this value updates the name shown in the sidebar navigation list and the main detail header. The adjacent color picker assigns the workflow's theme color, which dynamically controls progress bar shading, drop-zone borders, and status badges throughout the interface.

• Workflow Description Field: Stores an optional, user-entered metadata string that clarifies the purpose, inputs, and architectural scope of the workflow preset. This serves as documentation for the configuration's intended use case.

• Icon Drag Zone: Accepts an image dragged from the Finder to serve as the custom visual identifier for the workflow preset. The dropped image is then displayed in the sidebar list and the main header. The adjacent toggle controls whether the icon is rendered without its accompanying text label in condensed display modes.

• Search Folder Update Zone: Sets the primary file system directory path that the application will recursively scan to locate target files matching dropped source filenames. Accepts a folder dragged from the Finder. The path field above it displays the currently selected directory or indicates if none is set.

• Scope Toggle: Controls whether the recursive search engine includes OS-hidden and system directories during replacement scanning. When active, the search query dives into hidden folders to locate target files.

• Backup Enablement Toggle: Determines whether original target files are copied into a recovery directory before being overwritten by incoming source files. This safety isolation preserves a copy of the original assets for restoration.

• Compression Toggle: Controls whether backup copies of original files are compressed into a standard ZIP archive to minimize disk footprint. This setting is only available when backup creation is enabled.

• Source File Cleanup Policy: Defines the post-replace lifecycle action for the user's dropped input file after the operation completes. The available behaviors include: leaving the file untouched, moving it to the macOS system Trash, deleting it instantly from disk, or relocating it to a specified archival subdirectory for organizational tracing.

• Passive Watch Folders Configuration: Opens a dedicated configuration sheet to manage multiple directories that are periodically checked for incoming assets. Within that sheet, the user can add or remove folders, set time filters (Last Hour, Last Day, Last Week, All), and control recursive subdirectory scanning.

• Active Watch Folder Configuration: Opens a configuration sheet to manage a single designated directory for active file monitoring. This setup allows the system to automatically launch workflows upon discovering newly added or modified files.

• Destination Folders Configuration: Opens a configuration sheet to manage a list of secondary target folders that act as fallback locations. Files dropped into the workflow that do not match any existing file in the primary search folder can be routed to these destinations, optionally filtered by conditional string-matching rules with case-sensitivity options.

• Destination Folder Configuration Panel: Provides an interface to manage a list of secondary target directories that act as fallback locations. Files dropped into the workflow that do not match any existing file in the primary search folder can be routed to these destinations according to the defined configuration.

• Folder Selection Drop Zone: Accepts a folder dragged from the Finder to define the specific local directory that will serve as a destination for unmatched files. The dashed border and instructional icon clearly indicate this area as a dedicated drag target for setting the path.

• Conditional Routing Toggle: Activates rule-based filtering for the corresponding destination folder. When enabled, files are only routed to this destination if they satisfy one or more criteria defined in the appended condition list. When disabled, the folder receives files without any filtering.

• Condition Builder: Appends a new filtering rule to the list, allowing for the definition of specific string-matching constraints. Each condition consists of a text pattern to seek inside the filename and an option to toggle case sensitivity during matching.

• Add Destination Folder: Appends a new, empty destination folder entry to the configuration list, allowing the user to define additional fallback directories.

• Passive Watch Folders Configuration Panel: Provides an interface to manage multiple directories that are periodically scanned for new or modified files. Files discovered in these folders are displayed in the main workflow browser, allowing the user to review them before triggering search-and-replace operations.

• Monitored Directory Entry: Represents an individual folder currently under passive monitoring. Displays the folder's name for identification and provides controls for its specific scanning behavior.

• Recursive Scan Toggle: Controls whether the scan should dive into all subdirectories of the monitored folder, or only evaluate files directly contained at the top level.

• Time Window Filter: Restricts the scan to files modified within a specific temporal range. The available options—Last Hour, Last Day, Last Week, or All—allow users to narrow the discovery list to only recently changed assets.

• Directory Removal: Permanently removes the corresponding monitored folder from the passive watch list, stopping all future scans of that path.

• Folder Addition Drop Zone: Accepts a folder dragged from the Finder to register it as a new passive watch directory. Once added, a new entry appears in the list above with default scanning settings.

• Activation Toggle: Enables or disables the active monitoring of the configured folder. When turned off, the system stops scanning the directory for changes and prevents any automated triggers.

• Folder Selection Drop Zone: Accepts a folder dragged from the Finder to define the specific directory that the system will actively monitor for modifications. The dashed border and instructional text clearly indicate this area as a dedicated drag target for setting the watch path.

• Trigger Policy Selector: Determines the logical condition required to initiate a file operation when changes are detected in the monitored folder. This defines whether the system should fire on any single condition or when a specific combination of conditions is met.

• Condition Builder: Allows for the creation of custom, rule-based filters that modify the watch folder's behavior. Adding a condition provides a way to filter incoming files based on specific attributes, ensuring that only changes meeting the defined criteria trigger an action.

• Polling Interval: Adjusts the frequency, in seconds, at which the system scans the monitored folder for changes. This controls the responsiveness of the watch operation; a shorter interval offers more immediate detection, while a longer interval reduces system resource usage.

• Date Changed Interval: Sets the minimum time window, in seconds, that a file must remain unmodified before the system considers it stable and ready for processing. This prevents premature operations on files that are still being written or copied into the folder.

• Recursive Scan Toggle: Determines whether the system should monitor only the top-level folder or also include all files and folders nested within its subdirectories. When enabled, the watch operation detects changes at any depth of the folder hierarchy.

• Ignore Initial Files Toggle: Prevents the system from automatically processing files that already exist in the monitored folder when the watch is first activated. When enabled, only newly added or modified files after the activation point will trigger operations.
