Library Preparation Header

Identifies the primary application objective, indicating the user is at the initial stage of preparing a library for cleanup.

Drag & Drop Area

Serves as the primary input mechanism. Accepts Final Cut Pro X libraries (.fcpbundle) or folders by drag-and-drop action. Once a file is dropped, the application begins library analysis. Clicking anywhere on this area initiates a file browser to select items manually.

Folders Support Label

Confirms that the application accepts entire directories for processing, in addition to standard library files.

Settings Button

Provides access to the configuration panel where cleanup rules, file types to erase, and media transcoding preferences are defined.

Basic Tab

Displays the primary configuration settings for library cleanup, including controls for file deletion and media management, alongside usage statistics.

Cleanup Section

Provides granular controls over which types of temporary or generated files are removed during the diet process.

• Erase Render Files: When active, removes previously generated render files from the library to reclaim storage.
• Erase Transcoded Media: When active, deletes optimized or proxy media files created for editing performance, freeing up space.
• Erase Analysis Files: When active, removes analytical data files generated by Final Cut Pro, such as those used for automatic audio analysis or clip detection.
• Erase Temporary Folder: When active, clears out temporary work files and caches associated with the library.

Media Handling Section

Configures how the application interacts with media files stored outside the main library bundle.

• Archive Outside FCP Library: When active, manages or consolidates external media assets into an archive location during cleanup.
• Smart Relink: When active, enables intelligent relinking of external media to maintain project integrity after file operations.
• Collect Outside Folder Media: When active, identifies and gathers media files located in external folders for processing or consolidation.

Misc Section

Contains application-level settings and behavior modifiers.

• Launch in Old Mode: When active, reverts the application to a previous version's interface or operational logic.

Stats Section

Provides an overview of the user's cumulative cleanup achievements and global standing within the application's user base.

• Your Total Diet: Displays the total amount of storage space the user has reclaimed across all sessions.
• World Total Diet: Shows the cumulative storage space reclaimed by all users globally.
• World Ranking: Indicates the user's current rank compared to other users based on total reclaimed storage.
• Best Dieter: Displays the highest total storage savings achieved by any single user.
• View Leaderboard: Presents a ranked list of all users and their respective storage savings totals.

Ok

Confirms the current configuration choices and dismisses the settings panel.

Advanced Utilities Tab

Provides access to specialized tools for identifying and managing redundant or orphaned files that exist outside the main Final Cut Pro library structure.

Duplicates Section

Contains controls for locating and handling duplicate media files stored externally.

• Find Duplicates (Outside Final Cut Pro Library): When active, initiates a search for identical files located outside the primary library bundle.
• Only Above: Defines a minimum file size threshold; only duplicate files larger than this value will be included in the search results.
• Media Types: Filters the duplicate search to specific categories of files. The options are Video, Audio, and Pictures. If none are selected, all media types are included in the scan.

Unused Media Section

Contains controls for identifying media files that are stored externally but are not referenced by any project within the Final Cut Pro library.

• Find Unused Media (Outside Final Cut Pro Library): When active, initiates a search for orphaned files located outside the primary library bundle.
• Only Above: Defines a minimum file size threshold; only unused files larger than this value will be included in the search results.
• Media Types: Filters the unused media search to specific categories of files. The options are Video, Audio, and Pictures. If none are selected, all media types are included in the scan.

Destructive Tab

Provides access to irreversible file modification and deletion settings, primarily focused on reducing file sizes through transcoding and enforcing strict exclusion rules.

Transcode Options Section

Contains controls for converting high-bitrate ProRes video files into smaller, highly compressed h.264 formats to reclaim storage space.

• Encode ProRes Videos to h.264: When active, initiates the process of converting existing ProRes video files to the more space-efficient h.264 codec.
• Only Above: Sets a minimum file size threshold for the transcode operation. Only ProRes files larger than this value will be converted.
• Quality: Selects the target output quality for the h.264 conversion, ranging between Low, Medium, and High. The currently selected option is High.
• Include Prores 4444 Media: When active, includes the high-fidelity ProRes 4444 format files in the transcode operation.
• Delete Original Media: When active, permanently removes the original, larger ProRes source files after the h.264 conversion is successfully completed.

Exclusion Rules Section

Defines criteria for ignoring specific items during the cleanup process.

• Exclude Files Containing Text: When active, prevents the deletion of any files whose names contain specific specified text strings.
• Exclude Folders Containing Text: When active, prevents the scanning or deletion of any folders whose names contain specific specified text strings. Currently configured to exclude folders containing the text "FCP Renders".
• Add Tag: Allows entering a new text string to define additional criteria for exclusion.

Stats Dashboard

Displays a high-level summary of the total data across all loaded libraries.

• FILES: Shows the total count of all files found within the libraries.
• TOTAL SIZE: Displays the combined storage space occupied by all files across the libraries.
• ERASABLE: Indicates the total amount of storage space that can be reclaimed through the cleanup process.
• SAVINGS: Provides a cumulative total of storage space already saved or designated for savings.

Library List

Presents a scrollable inventory of each loaded library and its associated details.

• Library Entry: Represents an individual Final Cut Pro library. It displays the library name, relative file path, creation date, and total file size.
• Status Indicator: A circular marker appears to the right of the size, signaling that a scan is in progress or data is being calculated.
• Media Category Breakdown: For each library, provides a detailed breakdown of the files contained within, grouped by media type.
• RENDER: Displays the file count and total size of cached render files.
• TRANSCODED: Displays the file count and total size of optimized and proxy media.
• ANALYSIS: Displays the file count and total size of analysis data files, such as those generated for auto-correction or clip detection.
• ORIGINAL: Displays the file count and total size of source media files.

Settings Button

Provides access to the configuration panel to adjust cleanup rules, media handling preferences, and exclusion criteria.

Start Diet Button

Initiates the cleanup process. It executes the selected operations, such as deleting render files, transcoding media, or removing duplicates, to reclaim the calculated erasable storage space.
