1. Dashboard & Counts (Top Area)
This area provides a summary of the audio analysis results, giving you an immediate overview of the project's rhythmic structure.
- Beats Found: This displays the number of active rhythmic points that have been detected and will be used for the current edit. This number changes as you adjust the filter threshold or view options.
- Total Beats: This shows the total number of rhythmic points detected in the entire audio file. This is the raw count before any filters are applied.
- BPM Found: This value represents the calculated Tempo (Beats Per Minute) of the imported audio track. This is the core rhythmic foundation for the entire project.
- Beat Interval: This readout translates the BPM into a more practical metric, showing the average time (in seconds) between each rhythmic beat. It tells you the approximate gap between each edit point.
- Main Pattern Count: This shows how many of the detected beats fall on the primary, strongest rhythmic pattern of the track. These are often the most important beats for placing key video cuts.
2. Filtering & Logic (Middle Area)
This section contains controls that determine which detected beats are considered "active" and available for use in the timeline.
- Beats Threshold: This is a percentage slider that controls the energy filter. By adjusting this value, you can filter out weaker, less significant beats. A higher percentage means only the strongest, most prominent beats will be kept for editing. This is crucial for adapting a busy, complex track to a specific editing pace.
- Main Pattern Settings (Gear Icon): Tapping this button opens a popover where you can fine-tune the rhythm detection.
- Prefer Main Pattern: When enabled, the system will strongly favor placing video cuts on beats that belong to the primary rhythmic pattern of the song.
- Multiplier: This value acts as a weighting factor. It multiplies the "energy score" of beats on the main pattern, making them significantly more likely to be selected for video cuts.
- Ignore Beats Energy: This is a boolean toggle switch. When turned ON, the system will disregard the relative "energy" or loudness of a beat. - Clear All Heroes: A button that, when pressed, removes all "Hero Clip" assignments from the beat markers. Hero clips are special assets that you have manually pinned to specific beats. This action resets those pins, allowing you to re-assign them.
3. Display & Cuts (Bottom Area)
This section manages which beats are visible on the waveform timeline and allows you to manage manual cut points.
- Show Only Cuts: A boolean toggle switch. When turned ON, the timeline will only display markers that you have manually designated as "Cut" points. All other rhythmic markers will be hidden, helping you focus on your custom edit decisions.
- Remove All Cuts: A button that appears when the "Show Only Cuts" switch is active. It removes all manual "Cut" designations from the beat markers, reverting them to standard rhythm points. This is a quick way to reset your manual editing work.
- Show Only Main Pattern: A boolean toggle switch. When turned ON, the timeline will display only the beats that belong to the primary rhythmic pattern. Beats from secondary or syncopated patterns will be hidden, simplifying the visual layout.
- Hide Ghost Cuts: A boolean toggle switch. When turned ON, artificially injected "Ghost" beats are hidden from the timeline. Ghost beats are placeholders inserted by the system to fill rhythmic gaps where a beat is expected but not detected. This toggle helps clean up the display.

- Beats Found Counter: The large, bold number (e.g.,

Controls

- Semantic Meaning (ON vs. OFF):
- OFF (Default): The system uses the calculated energy of each beat (its volume impact) as a primary factor in deciding which beats are used for visual cuts and clip distribution.
- ON: The system treats every beat marker as having equal rhythmic weight. This effectively flattens the rhythmic hierarchy, distributing clips or placeholders evenly across every available beat, regardless of their volume or attack.
- Clear All Heroes (Button)
- Description: This action removes all "Hero" clip assignments from the timeline.
- Functional Impact: In the context of the application, a "Hero" clip is a specific video or image asset that a user has manually "pinned" to a particular beat marker, guaranteeing its placement. Pressing this button will disassociate all Hero clips from their assigned beats, resetting them to standard beat markers without deleting the clips themselves. Filtering & Logic

Marker Details Interface

Marker Information
- Time Display: Shows the precise timecode position of the selected marker on the timeline. This indicates the exact point in the audio file where the marker is placed.
Behavior Controls
These switches dictate how the application will treat the marker during analysis, editing, and export processes.
- Force Use: When enabled, this switch forces the application to treat the marker as a high-priority beat, guaranteeing its inclusion in the final timeline regardless of its energy level or the current filter thresholds.
- Force Ignore: When enabled, this switch completely excludes the selected marker from all analysis and export processes. The marker is effectively hidden from the rest of the application.
- Force First: When enabled, this forces the selected marker to act as the absolute starting point for the visual timeline. All beats before this marker are ignored.
- Force Last: When enabled, this forces the selected marker to act as the absolute ending point for the visual timeline. All beats after this marker are ignored.
Role Controls
These options assign specific, higher-level functions to the marker, influencing its place in the overall project structure.
- Set Hero: This button allows you to assign a visual asset (from your imported clips) to this specific beat marker. Once assigned, this marker becomes a "Hero" marker, guaranteeing that its corresponding visual will be placed at this exact rhythmic position in the final exported timeline.
Audio Duration
Overview

- 2. Audio File Specifications: This hover-activated overlay provides immediate access to critical metadata for the loaded soundtrack. It displays the total file duration, sample frequency, number of channels, and the detected tempo (BPM).
- 3. Playback Controls: This is the main transport bar for audio playback. It provides controls for starting and pausing playback at the current playhead position, as well as adjusting the horizontal zoom level of the waveform display to view the audio in greater or lesser detail. A precise timecode counter is included to show the exact playhead position.

- Audio File with Markers Only
Selecting this option restricts the export to the retimed or original audio file. The generated Final Cut Pro timeline will contain only the audio track and its associated rhythmic markers, without any video clips or placeholder segments.
- Placeholders
This mode generates a timeline populated with placeholder slugs. These empty visual segments are positioned at the rhythmic beat intervals, providing a structural outline for the edit. This allows you to see the pacing and rhythm of the cuts before assigning actual media assets.
- MediaClip
Choosing this option instructs the application to assemble a complete timeline using the imported video and image assets. The system will automatically distribute and position your media files across the timeline, aligning them with the detected beats and the selected editing pace, to create a fully formed, synchronized video sequence.
Asset Management Dashboard
This segment consolidates the primary interface for importing, monitoring, and managing video and image assets for the timeline.
- Drag & Drop Zone
This is the primary method for importing media into the project. Dragging and dropping video or image files from the Finder into this area initiates the asset ingestion pipeline. The system automatically validates file formats, extracts metadata (such as resolution, duration, and frame rate), and generates visual thumbnails for the asset gallery.
- Asset Statistics
This row of information capsules provides a quick summary of the project's current media inventory. It reports the total number of clips, active clips (which are eligible for inclusion in the final export), total segments derived from all clips, and active segments. This data offers immediate insight into the scale of the project and confirms that the intended assets have been correctly processed.
- Manage Clips
This action opens the dedicated Clips Manager workspace in a separate window. This secondary interface provides a comprehensive environment for detailed asset review, including media playback, frame-by-frame aesthetic analysis, individual clip settings (speed, volume, conform mode), and advanced editing features like the Hero sequence flowchart.

- Flat: Distributes visual cuts with a uniform pacing across the entire timeline. Each beat marker has an equal weight, resulting in a consistent editing rhythm.
- Crescendo: Applies an increasing editing pace. The pacing is slower at the beginning and accelerates toward the end of the timeline, building visual momentum.
- Normal Valley: Creates a dynamic pacing curve where the editing is faster at the beginning and end, and slower in the middle. This places emphasis on the middle section of the timeline.
- Crescendo Valley: Combines an accelerating pace with a valley pattern. The editing is faster at the end, but also features a slower middle section.

- Random: Arranges the selected media assets in a randomized order for each export, creating a unique sequence without a predictable pattern.
- By File Name: Sorts the assets alphabetically based on their file names, from A to Z.
- By Creation Date: Orders the assets chronologically based on their original file creation date, placing the oldest clips first.
- User Selected: Uses a custom, manually defined order. This option is typically paired with a drag-and-drop interface in the asset list to rearrange clips as needed.

- Export Audio: Generates a standalone audio file. This is typically a high-quality WAV file containing the final, retimed soundtrack with all applied edits and fades.
- Export FCPXML: Creates a Final Cut Pro XML file. This file contains the complete project timeline, including the audio track with beat markers, and all placed video clips, images, and their associated effects. It is intended to be imported directly into Final Cut Pro.
These controls configure the parameters of the automatic audio retiming engine, which is used to seamlessly shorten or lengthen a soundtrack to a target duration.
- Target Range +/- : Defines the acceptable tolerance window, in seconds, around the target duration. The engine will only consider cuts that result in a final track length within this specified range (e.g., creating a final duration between 143.9 and 153.9 seconds).
- Min. Start Time: Sets a protective margin, in seconds, at the beginning of the song. The engine is prohibited from placing a cut within this initial segment, preserving the introduction.
- Min. Time Before End: Sets a protective margin, in seconds, at the end of the song. The engine is prohibited from placing a cut within this final segment, preserving the outro.
- Force Cut Policy: Defines how strictly the engine must respect manually placed "cut" markers on the timeline.
- Ignore: The engine will ignore all manually placed cut markers and will only consider its own optimal transition points.
- Use at Least One...: The engine must use at least one manually placed cut marker as one of the transition points for the retimed loop.
- Use Forced Cut for Both...: The engine must use manually placed cut markers for both the starting and resuming points of the transition.

Taller bars indicate visually stronger moments, letting editors quickly spot the best-looking sections to prioritize when trimming or selecting a starting frame.
- Hero toggle: Marks this asset as a "Hero" clip, a key highlight designated for guaranteed placement in the final sequence. When enabled, the asset becomes available for pin-mapping to specific rhythmic beats, allowing it to override the standard automatic distribution logic and appear at an exact chosen moment in the timeline. The adjacent star icon reflects this status, filling in when active.
- Ignore toggle: Excludes this asset from being used anywhere in the generated timeline, effectively removing it from consideration during automatic assembly without deleting it from the project. The adjacent eye icon reflects visibility state, switching to a crossed-out version when the asset is hidden from the edit.

- First option: Locks this asset to always appear as the opening clip of the generated timeline, regardless of the sorting method selected for the rest of the assets. Selecting it automatically clears this designation from any other asset that previously held it.
- Last option: Locks this asset to always appear as the closing clip of the generated timeline, regardless of the sorting method selected for the rest of the assets. Selecting it automatically clears this designation from any other asset that previously held it.
- None option: Leaves the asset's framing unadjusted, applying no automatic scaling or cropping to reconcile its aspect ratio with the project's timeline format.
- Fit option: Scales the asset down so its entire frame remains fully visible within the timeline's aspect ratio, adding letterboxing or pillarboxing bars where needed rather than cropping any content.
- Fill option: Scales the asset up so it completely covers the timeline's frame dimensions, cropping any excess portions of the image that fall outside the target aspect ratio rather than leaving empty bars.
- Volume slider: Adjusts the playback loudness of this asset's audio track, expressed in decibels, letting the editor boost or reduce a clip's sound relative to the rest of the timeline.
- Normalize toggle: When enabled, automatically balances the clip's audio level based on peak amplitude analysis, preventing sudden volume spikes relative to other assets in the sequence.
- Mute action: Instantly silences this specific asset's audio track by setting its volume to the minimum level, offering a quick way to remove unwanted sound without adjusting the slider manually. Tapping again restores the previous audible level.
